SWACI is a research project of DLR supported by the State Government of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

German Aerospace Center e.V. (DLR)

in the Helmholtz-Association

Radio signals, transmitted by modern communication and navigation systems may be heavily disturbed by space weather hazards. Thus, severe temporal and spatial changes of the electron density in the ionosphere may significantly degrade the signal quality of various radio systems which even may lead to a complete loss of the signal. By providing specific space weather information, in particular now- and forecast of the ionospheric state, the accuracy and reliability of impacted communication and navigation systems shall be improved.

SWACI provides specific data to the European user community via the Space Weather European Network (SWENET) on a routine basis.

Using the navigation list on the left side of this frame you will be able to find information on the data and services offered by the project SWACI.

The News section provides actual information relevant for the SWACI service.

The Space Weather Tour allows you a better understanding of space weather phenomena and corresponding effects on technical systems and human life.

The Service Description provides you with all information around the SWACI service.

Under Education/Outreach you will be informed about scientific publications, presentations at conferences and publications in mass media. Furthermore, you get information on the school_lab project SIMONE which is guided by SWACI.

Under Data and Products you will find a review of offered data products and guidelines how to access the products.

Under Links you will find SWACI- relevant Internet-links.
